Joanne P. McCallie is in her sixth season as head coach of Michigan State University's women's basketball team and continues to shape Spartan basketball into one of the nation's elite programs.

Last season, she guided the Spartans to their greatest season in school history with 33 wins, a berth in the NCAA title game, and Big Ten regular season and tournament championships. She was rewarded for her efforts, being named the Associated Press National Coach of the Year, the Big Ten Coach of the Year and the Nike National Coach of the Year. In her first five seasons at MSU, she has collected an impressive 101-56 record.

McCallie has guided the Spartans to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, and her teams have been in the Big Dance nine times. She won four conference championships and was named conference coach of the year twice while coaching the University of Maine's women's basketball team.
